Two Traditions, One Future

Viking was acquired by Spacesaver in 2016

Your challenges fuel our innovation.

Viking History

The Viking Metal Cabinet Company was founded in 1950 and was acquired by the Wisconsin-based Spacesaver Corporation in 2016. For our clients, this acquisition provides access not only to Viking’s world-class museum storage cabinets but also to Spacesaver’s large networks of talent and experience. Our in-house teams of engineers, product managers, and skilled manufacturers work with our extensive network of local storage consultants and factory-certified technicians to provide exceptional products and customer service.

We work closely with leading curators, conservators, collections managers, and other museum professionals—as well as leading architects and designers—to ensure that we’re knowledgeable about current best practices and responsive to emerging needs. Our museum storage cabinets and other museum products are the result of years of collaboration and refinement, and we continually expand our standard offerings and custom solutions. We test every product extensively and then iterate until we’re manufacturing the best solution on the market.
